Northeast Utilities relocated its corporate headquarters to 56 Prospect Street, moving over 167 executive offices, corporate functions and a walk-in customer care center. The 143,000 sf facility resides on the grounds of the former Parsons Theater and has a long history of renowned tenants. .
The renovation began with general upgrades to each floor with the main design focus concentrating on the central executive floor which was completely reconfigured to accommodate new executive clientele.
The new floor plan features a spacious lobby and curved display wall, anchoring six surrounding offices, administrative areas and conference rooms. Modern glass partitions set in traditional wood frames divide the large space into smaller sitting and support areas. The client’s goal to maintain the integrity of the historic building was achieved by restoring and replicating existing molding and keeping as much of the original details as possible.
