Windham Dedicates New STEM Magnet School

One snip of a ribbon could be the symbol needed to move the magnet school from a point of contention to a point of celebration in the community.
Nearly six weeks after the school welcomed its first students, the community celebrated Windham’s Charles H. Barrows STEM Academy with a dedication ceremony Friday. It was a moment nearly 10 years in the making.
“This is like a dream finally come true,” said Susan Collins, vice chairman of the Board of Education and one of the original co-chairmen of the building committee for the school. Collins said she believes having the school completed has given even opponents of the school a reason to be proud.
